When considering an exotic for sale, check with the farm for laws on ownership and request a picture of past animals.
The greatest misconception is that they attack and kill people in defense of cubs, but it is grizzly’s trait. People fear these peaceful animals and kill them unnecessarily, few animals outside of national parks die of natural causes, most are shot in hunting or killed by vehicles.

There are many misconceptions about these animals, because they are often not separated from grizzly. The preferable habitat of these animals is large forests with small sunny openings that provide different kinds of insects, fruits and nuts. Mothers with cubs live in large trees with furrowed bark.
