The tours for hunters are rather expensive, up to $800. In sanctuaries animals are protected by law, but poaching still exists, because gall bladders and bile of these animals is highly valued by the Asian medicine as a remedy for various ailments.

This state is the home of the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary. It has the healthiest population of these animals in all states (about 30,000 individuals). Body part trade is illegal there and of all methods of hunt only baiting is allowed.
